President-elect Trump named Steve Bannon as his chief strategist.

Bannon is the former head of Breitbart News. His publication released hateful, sexist, anti-Semitic pieces during his tenure. It started a “black crime” section and used the Baltimore riots as a way to promote conspiracy theories.

President-elect Trump has pledged to bring this country together. But his appointment of Steve Bannon to such an important position achieves the exact opposite — alienating and offending huge groups of Americans.
